Onion bhaji ( slimming world friendly)

Onion bhajis would normally be a no-no on slimming world as they are deep fried yumminess. This way of making them means they are slimming world friendly, They arent syn free as you need that little bit of flour for them to stick together but they are very very tasty. Gram flour is chickpea flour you can buy in large supermarkets or asian stores. These are lovely as a side with a curry and rice but equally delicious as a snack served warm but share them as they are still 1 syn each :  )

Onion Bhajis

8oz onions peeled and very thinly sliced
2oz gram flour
1 tsp lemon juice
2 tsp ground cumin
2 tsp ground coriander
1 tsp chili powder(mild or hot as you like it )
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
spray oil

put everything in a mixing bowl and mix well, add water slowly until you have a thick paste (prob need a few tbsp ) mix well then leave for 5 minutes then mix well again.

Line a baking tray with baking paper then drop tablespoons of the mixture on the tray.

Should make about 12 small bhajis, Spray with the spray oil and then bake at Gas 5 / 190/375 for about 20-25 minutes until golden brown.

1 syn each

Enjoy :  )
